Hi there. I am happy to meet you, and I am very glad you arrived at this page to learn a little bit about me.![]()
Tshombe Brown, Life & Business Coach
My name is Tshombe, a Professional Life and Business Coach. I specialize in partnering with real estate agents (and other progressive entrepreneurs) who want to “magnetize their best clients and their best life.”
I officially became a coach in the fall of 2005. This is when I began my coach training at The Coaching Institute (and Comprehensive Coaching U) with the internationally reknown guru of coachingsm, Terri Levine.
I love being a coach! Through coaching, I finally found something (or, it found me) that allows me to fulfill my purpose every day, which is to help others discover and unlock their innate power of inspiration.
I chronicle my journey of inspiration as I learn and grow through the pages of my personal blog, The Inspiration Nation. It's not always neat and tidy (There are a few bumps along the way!), but it's always fun.
I invite you to visit the blog and offer your own comments, thoughts and insights.

You too deserve to earn a massive income doing what you love, while fulfilling your purpose at the same time.
Imagine what it would feel like to merge what jazzes and inspires you with what you do for a living? Wouldn't that be awesome?
That's why I coach.
Am I the right coach for you? Are we a magnetic match?
If your intuition already says YES!, you're ready for a conditional consultation.
If you're still gathering information to make a decision to hire me (or any coach), you're in the right place at the right time.
Read on as I introduce myself. I'm really glad you're here.

What Led Me To Becoming A Coach
If I'd known of the coaching profession when I began my working life 20 years ago, that's what I would have been doing (I had my first paying job the summer of 1986). In fact, I think my life experiences prepared the way for me to finally be introduced to the world of life coaching.
I was raised in the Jehovah's Witnesses Christian faith, officially choosing membership in the church when I was baptised in September 1985. I was an ardent student of the bible, meticulously researching, examining, and cross-referencing.
This fed my inquisitiveness (In life generally I am always asking "Why?"), but it also helped me bring the very best to the various bible study students I served. I loved teaching others and helping them transform their lives from one of depression, frustration, lack of purpose, addictions of all kinds to one of purpose, fulfillment and joy.
I served in various capacities in the congregation (including playing the piano, serving as a ministerial servant, helping the one Spanish congregation in the community, becoming a fulltime minister, beginning to give public talks, and intending to move to Ecuador to assist the growth of the church in that country) until I was disciplined privately by the elders and finally excommunicated from the church a couple of years later for homosexuality.
This threw me through a tailspin, as you might imagine.
I didn't know which way was up.....Not to mention I had been grappling with depression and self-loathing for many years because of my homosexuality and its incompatibilty with church teachings and, really, with the world as a whole.

I opened my own janitorial business, but didn't get it off the ground. I have always been a hard worker, but found that this work was not a conduit for helping others. I also had no idea what I was doing, lacking both business and marketing know-how.
From there, I worked various jobs, eventually finding myself back in the food-and-beverage industry (I had worked at a fast food joint in high school). I waited tables, bartended (including freelancing at parties after attending The Bartending Academy), worked room service, and catered weddings and corporate events.
(During this period, I also dealt Blackjack and other table games at a casino on two separate occasions/time periods.)
I really enjoyed the service industry. It was a lot of hard work, but I loved bringing a smile to people's faces, making their day -- at least in the moment.
Positively impacting others has always turned my crank. It's what jazzes me.
However, I was still looking for fulfillment and meaning.

In the summer of 2000, I was recruited to work for a catering and event planning company, where I quickly became a lead caterer. I also worked in the office planning weddings and events.
That fall, I was asked to become the human resource manager of the company, charged with the responsibility of creating all the human resource systems that previously did not exist.
I loved it.
I continued to plan and work events to a lesser degree, while I also built the human resources department from the ground up. I took classes and read all I could get my hands on to make sure I brought the company into legal and regulatory compliance with various laws.
This job was not without its frustrations.
Since I am a researcher, I was very good at finding out what the law required, as well as discovering and developing best practices to promote the smooth running of the company. However, the primary reason I was attracted to human resources was the opportunity to inspire and motivate the people, the employees.
Unfortunately, I had little support and largely felt unappreciated and used. I worked my tail off, often upwards of 60 to 70 or more hours a week.
In the summer of 2003, the owners announced a pay freeze. No one would be receiving any raises for an indefinite period of time. What was more, three of the employees would be getting their pay reduced.
I was one of the three.
That was the straw that broke the camel's back. I left the company, founded Your Signature Consulting, and began working as an independent wedding consultant and HR consultant.

I enjoy coordinating weddings, and I'm very good at it. In fact, I am one of the best coordinators north of Seattle, if you're looking for someone who is fun, loves to laugh, is a little goofy (maybe a lot goofy!), and is a stickler for the details.
The best thing about coordinating a wedding is the wonderful relationships. Some past clients are now fabulous friends.
That said, wedding coordinating is a lot of work and does not consistently nurture me or allow me to fulfill my purpose. I limit the number of weddings that I coordinate to 8 per year.
Likewise, I have not made a great living with human resources consulting, aside from assisting with the development or review of employee handbooks and offering suggestions on leadership development. What really turns my crank is the human aspects of human resources, far more than dealing with the administrative side of things.
For the last few years, I have enjoyed teaching human resources classes at Bellingham Technical College. Aside from the foundational overview of human resources class, I also teach courses on Diversity, Staffing and Recruitment, and Strategic Human Resources.

For the life of me, I cannot remember the events or set of circumstances that led my partner, Chad Helder, and me to be listening to Terri Levine on a teleconference call that spoke to my heart and to my spirit.
On that call, Terri explained what coaching is, the demand for it, and all about her coach training (and marketing) program. She said that coaching is the best catalyst for powerful, transformative change on the planet.
Through coaching, Terri asserted, I could empower people to create a life of magic and live a charmed life. Through coaching, I could teach clients how to coach themselves.
Wow.
Wow.
Wow.
You know how you read something or hear someone speak, and you hear the ring of truth?
I knew I was meant to be a coach. This is how I would be able to merge my life purpose with what I did for work! Chad and I were getting super-excited.
I remember Terri saying something about not being on that call with her by accicent. She said that if I felt in my heart to become a coach, I was already a coach.
We were convinced.
My life partner and best friend pulled out his credit card and financed my tuition. After acceptance of my application into the VIP program, I became a student of The Coaching Institute.
Truly, it was my gifts, talents, skills, and experience that brought me to coaching.

What Qualifies Me To Coach People
I am thankful for all of my life experiences, which -- along with my excellent coach training -- have taught me compassion, love, deep listening skills, and how to powerfully support others to make swift, dramatic, lasting, transformational change in their lives.
At University, I majored in Linguistics. To be sure, I am facinated by the mechanics of language and language change (including morphology, phonology, historical liguistics, etc.), but what drew me to Linguistics is how nonjudgmental and affirming it really is.
Language is so intricately connected to the culture and identity of a people. Rather than getting caught up in political debates over one language or dialect being superior or inferior to another, linguists honor this by rightly placing all languages on par with each other. There is no objectively more beautiful, less harsh, or more romantic language; there are all equally amazing whether those speaking the specific language (or those in power) believe it or not.
This empowering philosophy permeates and informs my coaching of people.
I formally studied principles of teaching, including various teaching models, at the Woodring College of Education at Western Washington University. I owe much of my ability to craft compelling curricula with outstanding and valuable content to Dr. Bruce Goebel on the English faculty of the University.
The primary blocks that prevent real estate agents and other entrepreneurs from achieving their goals include time management, stress (including overwhelm and burnout), procrastination, establishing standards and boundaries, self-care, and creating reserves.
As an entrepreneur myself, I have first-hand experience with each of these things, and I continue to face them in my life and business. Being trained by one of the best coaching schools in the world, and by having a coach myself, has given me tools to move past these blocks and toward the fun and ease that is the hallmark of my business.
The stragetic component of human resources is all about systems, measurement, and accountability. By keeping abreast of current research, teaching classes, and actively cultivating relationships with other successful entrepreneurs affords me the opportunity to continually bring high value to my coaching clients.
Speaking of systems and success habits and principles (to which Jan Janzen, author of Devil with a Briefcase, would wholeheartedly attest) even my years as a Jehovah's Witness have served me well as another factor qualifying me as an exceptional life and business coach.
I received (and continue to receive) superior coach training from The Coaching Institute, which also affords me instant access to a team of other amazing coaches. We collaborate, bounce ideas off each other, coach and challenge each other.
It's great for me to have support of these colleagues because it means that through me, my clients also receive the same support.
Of course, the proof is in the pudding, and I'm happy to say that my clients get results.
Here's what some of them have to say:
I really enjoyed getting together on Tuesday. Remembering and being able to talk about why I chose to be a Real Estate Professional really helped reignite that flame I started with. I was also reminded of why I work. I love helping others, but I also have tangible goals that I get really excited about. This was a refreshing experience. :)

It’s amazing how much power is in conversation. After the teleconference I felt like I was ready to concur the world. I’ve been more focused on my goals and have accomplish more on my to- do list than ever. Thanks Tshombe

My Special Invitation For You
Would you answer affirmatively to one or more of these questions?
- Are you feeling down because you have been breaking your back night and day for months and have little or nothing to show for it, but you see other people working the exact same hours (and maybe even less!) and making money hand over fist?
- Do you have all kinds of tools and training, but still find yourself without a solid, reliable system that works for you?
- Are you suffering from burnout, overwhelm or information overload?
- Are you frustrated because you come up short every month, realizing that you have more month than money every month?
- Do you feel disorganized or that your business has control of you instead of you having control of it?
- Do you know in your heart of hearts that you are meant for more, but somehow your faith has wavered?
- Would you like to release struggle and begin attracting to you the life and business you desire and deserve?

Are you ready to begin sculpting your masterpiece?
